Happy International Women's Day from JudyP. Today we celebrate the progress women have made — in business, in leadership, and in building something from nothing.
The Numbers Tell a Story
According to the National Association of Women Business Owners, over 11.6 million US businesses are owned by women — employing nearly 9 million people. Women-owned businesses have grown at nearly four times the rate of men-owned businesses over the past two decades. The momentum is undeniable.
Judy's Story
JudyP Apparel was founded in 2010 with a passionate focus on US-made products and US materials. Judy built her brand by treating everyone on her team fairly, believing that they were all working toward the same goal. Her greatest accomplishment, she says, isn't the product — it's the team of incredible people who are not only good at what they do, but genuinely enjoy doing it.
When asked about being a woman in business, Judy's answer is simple: she never stopped to consider her gender as a setback. She worked harder and smarter, and kept going. That's it.
The Path Forward
68% of US businesses are still run by men. Progress is real — but there's more to do. The best thing women can do for other women in business is to support them: buy from them, recommend them, share their work. Every purchase from a women-owned brand is a small vote for a more equal economy.
“There’s no one secret to running a successful women-owned business other than the drive to work hard and to never consider adversity to be stronger than oneself.”
— Judy P, Founder
