What makes a good work top
- It works under a jacket. A boatneck or soft V-neck sits flat under a blazer. Bulky collars and ties do not.
- It does not need an iron. Our knit comes out of the dryer smooth, so the top you wore Monday is ready again for Thursday.
- It fits through the hip. Our tops are cut with added room through the hip so they do not ride up when you sit.
- It is a solid color. Solids mix with every trouser and skirt you own. Start with navy, black and white, then add one color you love.

Solid shells, boatnecks, soft V-necks and jewel-neck long sleeves in a smooth knit or woven fabric. Avoid very low necklines, sheer fabrics without a layer, and anything that needs constant adjusting.

Business casual tops are polished tops you can wear without a suit jacket: sleeveless shells, 3/4 sleeve boatnecks, V-necks and long sleeve knits in solid colors, worn with trousers or a skirt.
Can I wear a knit top instead of a blouse to work?
Yes. A smooth knit V-neck or boatneck looks as finished as a blouse under a blazer, and it does not wrinkle or gap at the buttons.

Navy, black, white and soft neutrals are the easiest base. Add one or two colors, such as coral, pink or cerulean, for days without a jacket.
